Charleston Lake

Hey all,
We went camping with a group of friends a few weekends ago, so I thought I'd post a few pics. It was a great time (even with the rain), and it was fun to see all the kids play together. This year there were 14 adults and 12 kids....next year the kids will outnumber us! I'll try to write another post soon to update you on what's been going on with us. The last few weeks haven't been to great, but it looks like things are finally taking a turn for the better.

Take care!

a sad note...

Mike, Megan & I received some sad news this week. Our tiny baby was not meant to be and has gone on to his/her heavenly home. It's heartbreaking and hard to understand why something like this would happen. But all we can do is trust that God does have a plan for us. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

My eyes long to see you
Now you behold Him
My arms ache for you
Now you know perfect love
My ears yearn for your voice
Now you sing His praises.
I desire to feed you
Now you will never know hunger.
I anticipated the pitter-patter of your feet
Now you play at His pierced ones.
I dreamed of years of love and laughter
Now you will never know pain.
I longed to watch you grow and develop
Now you are perfect.
This isn't how I planned
but I know He loves you and me.

A Beautiful Wedding

My good friend Kelly got married yesterday, so Mike and I had an afternoon and evening out.
The wedding was absolutely beautiful and so was Kelly! We had a really great time catching up with friends and dancing a little bit too!

some news

Just wanted to let all you blog readers know our good news! Mike and I are expecting our second baby January 4th, 2008! We're very excited to be adding to the family and can't wait to see Megan as a big sister! So far the pregnancy is going quite well. I was a little sick in the beginning, but that has mostly gone away already. I'm a little tired, but I think that's to be expected when you have a 13-month-old running around at home!! I'll keep you updated as much as I can!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all you dad's out there! We had a relaxing afternoon swimming and hanging out at my parent's place. Megan had her first swim of the summer and loved it.

In other news, my brother and sister-in-law had
a beautiful baby boy on Thursday. His name is
Cole Benjamin and he looks a lot like his big
brother Liam. Super cute!

Megan is talking quite a bit now. Doggie is one of her favourite words, although it doesn't always mean just dog. Pretty much any animal is a doggie. Just like both Mike and I are "daddy" . Still pretty cute though. Today she starting saying ball. I love hearing her little voice.

Anyways, just a little update for now. Have a good week!

Birthday Girl & Back to Work

Ok, ok, I know it has been a LONG time since my last blog, but between not having internet for awhile and then getting back to work, I've been busy! Unfortunately, that means I have a ton of pics I want to include, but I may have to pick and choose.

So first things first. Megan is officially walking. She started about a week before her birthday and hasn't stopped since. She hardly ever crawls now, and has even started trying to climb onto things. I didn't think she could get much busier than she already was with crawling, but I was wrong! Now we have to move things away from the edge of counters and tables because the little munchkin can reach things.
Megan and Mike's birthday weekend (their birthdays are 2 days apart) was a busy one. We had a big party on a Friday night to celebrate Mike's Big 30. It was a good time with friends and family, and thankfully the rain held off so we could all be outside. Then we celebrated Megan's birthday on the Sunday with family. She had a blast playing with her cousins, opening her gifts and especially eating her birthday cupcake!! It's so hard to believe that our baby's first year is already over. Seriously, where does the time go??

After that crazy weekend, I had the delight (cough, cough) of returning to work. It was a tough Sunday night....you try being with your daughter every day for a year and then all of a sudden you have to leave her for a huge part of the day. Trust me, it isn't easy. (all you working moms know what I'm talking about, I'm sure) But I survived my first week. The evenings were hard, my body had to definately adjust, but I survived. And you know what? I don't think Megan even missed me. She had such a blast playing with her cousins and all the different toys! I did get hugs and smiles when I picked her up though, so that made me feel good.

My second week is going ok, but I've only been in one day out of 3 because on Sunday I came down with a brutal cold. Not fun at all. Hopefully Mike and Megan don't catch it.

Anyways, that's it for now! I'll leave you with a few more random pics....
